The fight continues poorly, perhaps because the heroes are still disoriented from their vision-quest, or possibly because they have grown cocky from their prior easy successes against assorted Nasties. |

The
Sprigginflints escape through a portal opened in the sky
(presumably by the Pale Incanter) and once again Kevin
attacks Kirby verbally for reckless endangerment of
nearby innocents. |
In the aftermath of the battle, Kevin tries to convince Kirby and Joe that they must seek out the Nasty in their vision. The Sprigginflints remind him of the Gracklefints (the son's of the Umbra Sprite he encountered in Mage - "The Hero Discovered".) |

Kirby remains adamant that his only concern is his personal quest -- Kevin's the one with all the enemys. Isis, worried for her and Gretch's safety, hastily sends the trio on their way in her VW Bus and the next morning Wally Ut rides past a less than friendly Isis on the north-bound trail of the Pendragon and friends. |

who brings their attention to Gretch -- the Giant is
still knocked out from the Sprigginflint venom. Kevin
tries to revive him using the bat's energy and is
successful.
