Looks evil to me.

Having decended into the Nether Realms, Kevin, Kirby and John soon encounter another portal - a Midnight Maze.

Batter and catcher...

During a tussle with a nasty three-headed Cerebus, John Strider is thrown into the pitch black portal. Kevin tries to catch the Presbyter but is also dragged into the dark portal. Kirby Hero grabs the Pendragon's hand at the last moment...

...only to be pulled into the inky darkness as well. John Strider tumbles out of reach of Kevin and Kirby, and the duo eventually fall out of the Midnight Maze and into a rocky ravine.

...and I can't get up!

As Kirby and Kevin argue (for a change) about their prediciment, a trio of Sprigginflints dis-lodge a huge boulder and send it tumbling straight towards Kirby. Kevin knocks the Olympian out of harm's way only to be pinned under the crushing load.

Taking a load off...

Gathering all his strength, the Olympian lifts the boulder and frees the Pendragon. Meanwhile the Pale Incanter watches his children's failed attempt to separate  the Pendragon from his allies.

Just an evil voyuer?

Under the guidance of John Strider's magic lantern, the two heroes find Joe Phat trapped in a Leanhaun Sidhe's lair. With the helpful advice of a harmless Bogart, the two free the Speedster hero. Kevin gives the drained hero a small jolt from the bat to revive him... while the tactic works, Joe also successfully slugs both of his friends.

Joe attacks! 2 punches to the puss!
Magic Eight Ball...will Billy ask me out?

Reunited, the heroes prepare to exit the nether realms. Meanwhile, the Pale Incanter continues to watch, secure in the knowledge that there is "only one way out."
