Mage -- Issue 11

Kirby Hero returns as Issue 11 begins. After a brief reunion, he joins Prester John and Kevin as they venture into the gathering storm in search of the missing Joe Phat.

Although Magda states she is unable to join the Avatars on their mission, she give the departing Pendragon a gift.

Kiss

While travelling to the mountain cemetary, Kirby mentions that Wally Ut informed him of Joe Phat's sorcerous abduction. Kirby

Kirby accuses Kevin of recklessly assuming leadership -- a course which led to Garth, The Hornblower's, death.

When pressed for his opinion, Prester John voices his confidence in the Pendragon's abilty to take control of a situation. An apparantly still unconvinced Kirby Hero concedes the point and the three continue in silence.

A sudden assault by Frost Pixies separates the three Heroes, and Kevin finds himself alone

Hounds

and confronted by the Hounds of his "Pack" -- the spirits of those who have suffered due to his inaction or neglect.

Although initially caught off-guard, Kevin soon realizes he is being toyed with by the Sprigginflints.
Board
Their true identity discovered, the brothers depart. Leaving Kevin to search for his companions. He finds Kirby in the company of a giant green cyclops. Upon the Pendragon's approach, the Nasty attacks!

During the ensuing battle, Kevin finds himself shielded from an attack by the magical lipstick kiss Magda placed on his shirt. Kevin and kirby defeat their foe readily, but with it's dying words the beheaded Nasty leaves Kevin with a mysterious message. Just like Wally Ut, the Nasty calls the Pendragon by the name "Foxfire."

Prester John rejoins the other Heros as they approach the cross atop the mountain. He recognizes the area as a gateway to darker supernatural powers, and informs Kevin and Kirby that the cross acts as a barricade holding these same powers back. With a little faith and some sacred stones...

He reveals the area's true, and darker appearance.
